In a remarkable display of determination and community spirit, volunteers recently tackled the severe pollution issue plaguing a lake in Puncak Alam, Selangor.
According to a TikTok video uploaded by @foundermisi, the lake was heavily littered with plastic bottles and other debris, prompting Azmi, the founder of Misi, to start a cleanup initiative..
Well organized mission
Azmi gathered 40 volunteers and meticulously planned the initiative before the actual day.
They purchased necessary equipment such as safety vests and cleaning nets from local stores and used a boat to facilitate their work.
On the day, the team diligently collected and bagged all the trash, successfully making the lake look clean and restoring its natural beauty.
Despite the physical exhaustion, the volunteers showed remarkable enthusiasm for the cleanup effort.

“All the individuals in the video are part of our café’s founding team and the Misi headquarters team, totaling 40 people. This cleanup was preparation for their weekly community service activities. ” Azmi shared.
Azmi also stated that he believes keeping the natural environment clean is everyone’s responsibility for the Earth.
“We hope no one misunderstands our intentions. We are simply fulfilling our responsibility to our home, Puncak Alam,” Azmi said.
