Speaking to Shin Min, Teo’s wife said she first met him at a cooking school and found herself completely charmed by his cooking skills and warm personality.

After dating for six years, they got married and were slated to receive the keys to their Build to order (BTO) home by the end of 2024.

We bought furniture and appliances for the BTO and even planned to raise a dog and start a home business. However, I never thought I’d have to prepare a eulogy just three months into our marriage,” she said.

Fondly remembered by friends & colleagues

Several of Teo’s friends and colleagues were deeply saddened by his passing, with many describing him as a person who never held back whenever someone needed help.

One of Teo’s apprentice told Shin Min that Teo once helped him during a period where he experienced depression by buying food for him every week so that he could check up on him.

“He brought ingredients over to my house and said he wanted to research new recipes with me. I later kickstarted my own business the next year with his support,” he recounted.

A friend dedicated a heartfelt post to Teo on Facebook, writing: ‘He touched many lives with his kindness, brilliance, and unwavering spirit. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will be remembered forever… Rest in peace, Daniel. You will be dearly missed by all of us.”
