In another shocking development to the double murders that occurred at Bukit Rambai, Melaka today, police have revealed troubling details about how the tragedy unfolded.
The details were unveiled by Melaka police chief Dzulkhairi Mukhtar, who held a press conference to brief reporters on what police have uncovered so far.
2nd son of M’sian teacher allegedly killed mum
According to Dzulkhairi, he said the suspect behind the murders was the 17-year-old son of one of the victims, 51-year-old Vernita Boon.
He added Boon’s second son long had harboured resentment against her as he was unhappy with her frequent scolding, which intensified in the days leading up to his SPM examination, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Thus, on the morning of the murder, the 17-year-old attacked Boon while she was asleep. However, he was caught in the act by his older brother, 21-year-old Lim Boon Kai.
Unfortunately, Lim also found himself getting killed at the hands of the suspect.
Dzulkhairi said both Boon and Lim had stab wounds on the neck, waist, and back, adding the murder weapon was a foldable knife approximately 20cm long, which the suspect had hidden in his school bag.

When Boon’s youngest son saw what had happened, he was ordered by the suspect to leave the house but refused to do so.
As a result, he was also stabbed by the suspect and was later found lying outside the house while injured. He is currently in stable condition and receiving treatment at Melaka General Hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).
Case classified as murder
Dzulkhairi said police believe the murders were premeditated as the suspect had hidden the knife in his school bag.
He also said the 17-year-old admitted to wanting to kill Boon and attempted to destroy evidence after committing the crime.

The case is now being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and police confirmed the suspect was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.
