His journey with grass cutting dates back to his early teens, when he resided with his uncle following his parents’ split. It was during this period that he learned the value of independence.

“That was when I learned how to be independent,” he reflected, reminiscing about the days he lent a hand in his uncle’s grass cutting business.

Taking a leaf from his family’s book, Mohd Syafiq eventually branched out with his own grass cutting venture. His wife and family have been his pillars of support, encouraging him to take pride in his work without any shame. In fact, he can earn up to RM100 per job, proving that his efforts are not in vain.

Yet, this dual responsibility is not without its hurdles. Between his 9 to 5 job and his part-time grass cutting business, Mohd Syafiq finds it challenging to carve out quality time for his wife and daughter. Each grass cutting task demands around 3-4 hours of his free time or days off. But, the satisfaction and appreciation he receives from his clients make it all worthwhile.

“It takes me around 3-4 hours to complete the job, but when my clients are satisfied with my work, I feel appreciated,” he shared.

In an effort to promote his services and spread awareness about proper waste disposal, Mohd Syafiq has taken to TikTok. Here, he shares valuable tips and insights about his work and environmental consciousness.
