A young man’s life was tragically cut short after he allegedly fell from a height at a shopping mall located in Melaka on Valentine’s Day (Feb 14).
The victim, who was identified as 27-year-old Lin Jinxing (transliteration), hailed from Bukit Beruang and was pronounced dead at the scene following the fall.
What witness saw
According to an eyewitness, he told Sin Chew Daily that he saw Lim standing on the 8th floor before his body landed on the road.

He then called for an ambulance and contacted police, but it proved to be too late as Lim showed no signs of life when medical personnel arrived at the scene.
No criminal elements
Meanwhile, Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the fall occurred at around 6pm and police investigations found no evidence of criminal elements in the case.
He added that Lim, who last worked as a sales executive, was single and wasn’t facing any health or debt problems.
