25yo M’sian Woman Stunned To See MyJPJ List Her Birth Year As 1901

Suddenly 100 years older.
A Malaysian university student was left stunned after discovering that her Class L driving licence on the MyJPJ app listed her birth year as 1901, a full 100 years earlier than her actual year of birth.

The woman, Aina Fatini Binti Radzi, 25, shared her experience on Threads, where screenshots of the bizarre error quickly caught the attention of netizens.

Only noticed after switching to MyJPJ

Speaking about the incident, Aina explained that she had already registered to take her driving licence back in 2024, when the L licence was still issued as a physical card.

At that time, there was no issue because the physical licence didn’t even show the date of birth,” she said.

The mistake only came to light when she decided to begin circuit training at a driving centre around October 2025 and renewed her licence digitally via the MyJPJ app.

When I wanted to send a screenshot of my licence to the driving school clerk, that’s when I realised my birth year had changed to 1901. It should be 2001,” she shared.

Told to fix it at JPJ instead

Alarmed, Aina immediately informed the driving school clerk about the error.

However, she was told that the issue could not be corrected at the driving centre, as all personal details were pulled directly from the MyJPJ system.

The clerk said they couldn’t change anything and that I would need to go to Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) myself because it involved the system,” she explained.

For the time being, Aina decided to continue with her circuit training instead of heading to JPJ immediately.

Health issues caused months-long delay

Not long after, her training had to be postponed for several months due to health issues, causing the strange birth year error to slip her mind.

It was only when she resumed training in January and needed to renew her L licence again after it expired that the issue resurfaced.

That’s when I remembered about the birth year problem,” she said.

Physical licence never showed date of birth

Reflecting on the situation, Aina pointed out that the error may have gone unnoticed earlier because the physical L licence did not display a date of birth, only her name and identity card number.

It was only after MyJPJ was introduced that the date of birth started being shown,” she added.

Her post has since amused many netizens, with some joking about how she had suddenly become a ‘1901 baby’, with a netizen generating images of what an ‘ancient license’ in 1901 should look like.

According to WeirdKaya’s observations in the comment section, Aina is not alone in facing this issue.

Several netizens came forward to claim that their own driving licences on MyJPJ also displayed incorrect birth years, with some joking that they, too, had suddenly aged decades overnight.

Despite the unusual mix-up, based on the latest updates by Aina on her Threads, she has now passed her JPJ driving test.

**Special thanks to Aina for sharing her story.
