A 24-year-old man had quite the scare this morning when his Perodua Myvi lost control and plunged into a drain along Jalan Bukit Kukus, Ayer Itam.
The incident, which happened around 8.24am, left the man trapped in the driver’s seat after his car reportedly skidded off the road.

Myvi ended up in the drain
According to John Sagun Francis, Assistant Director of the Fire and Rescue Operations Division at the Penang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the rescue team from Paya Terubong Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene.
Using special rescue tools, they managed to free the man from the wrecked Myvi. Fortunately, he only sustained minor injuries.
Given medical attention and sent to hospital
The Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit on site provided initial treatment before sending the man to the hospital for follow-up care.
No word yet on what caused the accident, but we’re glad he made it out with just light injuries and a story he probably won’t forget anytime soon.
