While none of us enjoy having our ears being talked off by our parents, in the end of the day, they’re doing so simply for our own good.
The family of a young woman who allegedly left home in a huff after getting lectured over being unemployed is pleading for her safe return, raising fears that she may have fallen victim to human trafficking.
23yo M’sian girl runs away from home after getting nagged to get a job
In an interview with China Press, the mother of 23-year-old Su Jiaying (transliteration) said the latter had been unemployed and staying at home for over six months.

As such, this prompted her and her husband to urge Su to find a job in order to support herself.
My daughter doesn’t like going out. She spends almost every day at home playing on her phone and gaming, mostly interacting with online friends. However, we usually don’t interfere too much.
“My husband and I had an argument with her two days ago over her unemployment, but she showed no signs of distress yesterday morning (Feb 19),” she said.
Su’s mother added that when she woke up around 8am today, she discovered Su had disappeared from their home in Selayang, where CCTV footage showed her leaving at around 5am whie carrying several bags.
“It’s likely that she left in a fit of anger after being scolded two days ago. In her impulsiveness, she ran away from home and even blocked all our contact numbers.”

Unable to contact daughter
Su’s mother revealed that one of her daughter’s friend managed to contact Su, with Su informing her friend she had found a job with food and accommodation provided.
However when the friend urged Su to return home and not let her parents worry, Su reportedly killed the call and blocked the number.
“We are really worried that she might have been deceived or even trafficked,” added Su’s mother.
Those with information on Su’s whereabouts are urged to contact Su’s mother at 017-6129488 or 019-2100155.
