23yo M’sian Earns RM12K Monthly From Farming & Livestock Without Taking A Loan

Helping his village, growing food, building a future.
He didn’t wait for opportunity to knock — he planted it, watered it, and watched it grow into a thriving business.

Meet Muhammad Khalid Saifullah Md. Amin, a 23-year-old who earns up to RM12,000 a month from farming and livestock rearing, all without a single sen of loan.

Started young, skipped the 9-to-5

Khalid began his journey in 2019, at just 18 years old, in Kampung Gajah, Sungkai. Though he has a diploma in construction from Ipoh Vocational College, he chose a different path.

Instead of climbing the corporate ladder, he built his own business — one chili plant, banana tree, and goat at a time.

Today, Khalid grows a variety of crops like lemongrass, bananas, kampung chilies, durians, and mangosteens.

On the livestock side, he rears chickens, ducks, cows, and goats on his 1.21-hectare land beside his home.

Kosmo! reported that his efforts in supplying fresh food to the Tanjung Malim area support both his household and his farm operations.

Khalid isn’t just working for himself.

He also acts as a collector and distributor for local produce like durian, mangosteen, and petai, creating a source of income for the Orang Asli community around him.

Some of them even worked for him before going on to start their own farms, thanks to the skills and income they gained under his guidance.

No loans, just reinvestment

One thing that stands out? Khalid never took a bank loan.

“I just reinvest my earnings into the business — things like animal feed, utilities, and farm management,” he told.

He also turns waste into value: vegetable scraps become animal feed, and manure is converted into fertilizer for his crops. Nothing goes to waste.

Eyes set on bigger things

Khalid dreams of one day opening a licensed slaughterhouse, and he’s already getting support from the Veterinary Department and Agriculture Department of Perak, who assist with advisory services, marketing, and sales.

His work supports the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan, which envisions Muallim district as a youth-friendly hub focused on agriculture, business, and services.

It also ties into the state’s flagship goal of creating “Lembah Bakul Makanan Malaysia”, a brainchild of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

From a small kampung to a big monthly income, Khalid is proving that farming isn’t just viable, it’s thriving.
