A young man pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl two years ago, which resulted in her giving birth to a child in June of last year.
The accused, Muhammad Zuladha Ferhad Zuraini, made the guilty plea when the charges were read out by an interpreter in front of Judge Abu Bakar Manat at the Muar Sessions Court on Wednesday (Jul 31).

According to the charge sheet, Zuladha was accused of raping the minor at his home between August and November 2022.
His vile act was later brought to light when the victim became dizzy and subsequently passed out at an exhibition site in December 2022.
When she was brought to the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital, she discovered that she was 14 weeks pregnant. Her family filed a police report on Dec 17, 2022, leading to Zuladha’s arrest three days later.
As for the child, it was given to someone else after the victim gave birth on June 12, 2023.
Zuladha, who was unrepresented, was charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code for rape, which carries jail terms of up to 20 years and whipping.
The court then set bail at RM8,000 with one surety and fixed Aug 18 for the presentation of case facts and sentencing.
Upon hearing the bail amount, Zuladha could be heard saying, “Please, ask anyone for help” to his family members in hopes that they could raise funds for his bail, reported NST.
The court also ordered Zuladha to report to the Muar district police headquarters at the start of each month and forbade him from contacting or communicating with the victim and her family.
