A thief in Indonesia who had just stolen a motorcycle quickly learned that karma can strike in unexpected ways — especially when crime meets fatigue.
Stolen bike vanishes during nap break
The unusual incident took place in Indragiri Hulu (Inhu), Riau.
According to Kompas, 22-year-old Martogi Sinaga stole a Kawasaki KLX 150 CC motorcycle on April 28, 2025. The vehicle had been parked near a roadside stall in Peranap.

After the theft, Sinaga fled the scene and made his way towards Tebing Tinggi.
Exhausted from the journey, he stopped to rest at a mosque — but fell asleep. When he woke up, the motorcycle he had just stolen was gone, taken by yet another thief.
Arrested without the stolen motorcycle
Despite losing the stolen bike, Sinaga was eventually tracked down by police and arrested on May 7 in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra. However, the motorcycle was no longer in his possession.
During questioning, Sinaga confessed to the theft and recounted how he lost the bike while napping.
Although the motorcycle remains missing, authorities recovered other evidence, including the victim’s helmet, safety boots, and the suspect’s clothing worn during the theft.
Awaiting justice
Sinaga is currently in police custody, pending further legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, efforts to locate the stolen motorcycle are ongoing.
