20yo M’sian ACCA Top Student Passes Away In Six-Vehicle Collision 

The 27-year-old driver of the Perodua Alza was arrested and will be remanded.
A 20-year-old top student, Aysar Zahran Saiful Alimin was involved in a horrific accident on Sunday evening, where a Perodua Alza veered into the opposite lane and collided with four motorcycles and another car along Jalan Hulu Langat – Ampang.

Pronounced dead at the scene

Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, confirmed that Aysar, who was riding a motorcycle, was thrown onto the roadside and pronounced dead at the scene.

A Perodua Alza coming from Ampang lost control and crashed into five vehicles, causing one motorcyclist to be thrown to the roadside.

“As a result, a 20-year-old male motorcyclist was confirmed dead at the scene.

“Five other motorcyclists and pillion riders sustained injuries and were taken to Ampang Hospital for treatment,” he said in a statement on Monday.

Both car drivers were unharmed, and all those involved in the accident were aged between 17 and 38.

The 27-year-old driver of the Perodua Alza was arrested and will be remanded.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with reckless driving causing death.

The police have also urged witnesses or anyone with information about the accident to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Narolhisyam Endi at 019-5897115.

A bright future cut short

Aysar was not just any student—he was a rising star in the accounting world. 

TYMBA Education, a professional accounting centre, revealed in a heartfelt Facebook post that Aysar was a MyPAC-Maybank Islamic Berhad scholarship recipient under the ACCA-FIA program.

With heavy hearts and acceptance of God’s will, we share the sad news of the passing of Aysar Zahran Bin Saiful Alimin, a valued student of MyPAC-Maybank Islamic Berhad scholarship for the ACCA-FIA program at TYMBA,” it wrote.

His academic achievements were outstanding. In December 2023, he ranked 1st in Malaysia and 2nd in the world for the Management Information 1 (MA1) paper, a key subject in the Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) exams.

“May his soul find eternal peace in Jannah,” the statement added.

Calls for justice

Following the incident, Alternative Riding Club (ARC Selangor) urged authorities to take strict action against reckless drivers.

“We strongly condemn irresponsible driving and call for a thorough investigation to ensure justice for Aysar and his family,” the group wrote on Facebook.

Authorities also reminded motorists to always drive cautiously and adhere to traffic laws to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
