While thousands gathered to celebrate Thaipusam, two traffic policemen quietly did something that no one asked them to do.
A short video that recently went viral shows the officers holding plastic bags and picking up rubbish scattered along the roadside near a temple area.
The clip may have been brief, but it was enough to warm many hearts online.

βTruly good souls are hard to findβ
Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, the woman who recorded the video shared that she had just closed her stall and was heading to the area.
She and her friends were sitting there waiting for a Grab ride when they noticed the two traffic policemen walking around with plastic bags in their hands.
βThey were collecting rubbish that was scattered on the road,β she told WeirdKaya.
According to her, the part shown in the video was only a small glimpse of what they had actually done.
βThe one I showed in the video is actually little, but they cleaned a lot,β she said.
In her caption, she wrote:
βSalute to this traffic police officer. Truly good souls are hard to find. May God bless them both, and hopefully PDRM will appreciate and reward their kindness and service.β

Doing it casually, without hesitation
What surprised her most was how naturally the officers did it.
She admitted that even members of the public sometimes hesitate when it comes to picking up rubbish thrown by others.
βEven us sometimes will be thinking twice while collecting rubbish that was done by others. They did it very casual as if its nothing.β she said.
The officers were still in the midst of their duty managing traffic and ensuring the safety of devotees. Yet, they took the time to clear up after irresponsible individuals.
For her, that was the reason she decided to take out her phone and record the moment.
I wanted to show how they took their time even though they were on duty. They were doing that because of things that were done by some irresponsible people.β
A gentle reminder to be more responsible
Thaipusam is a sacred occasion for many devotees. Large crowds, long processions, and vibrant celebrations are part of the experience.
But with big crowds often comes litter.
The OP hopes the video serves as a reminder for everyone to be more mindful.
I hope everyone needs to be responsible in throwing rubbish, especially around temple areas where we worship Gods,β she said.
Online, many netizens echoed her sentiments. Some praised the officers for going beyond their job scope, while others said simple acts like this restore faith in humanity.
In the end, it was not a dramatic rescue or a major operation. Just two officers, a couple of plastic bags, and a quiet decision to do the right thing.
Sometimes, that is all it takes to make people believe in kindness again.
