Two young men were recently caught on dashcam footage stealing two baskets of bread from a truck before fleeing the scene, an act which triggered backlash from netizens.

In a 39-second clip which has gone viral on Facebook, it showed the suspect trying to act casual by smoking a cigarette while walking towards a truck transporting bread, while his accomplice is seen reversing the motorbike closer to the truck.
Several seconds into the clip, the suspect is seen carrying two large baskets brimming with bread and hopping onto the motorbike before fleeing the scene with his accomplice.
In the background, another man simply watched the thieves take off while smoking a cigarette and did nothing to stop them.
When one of the workers realised what had happened, he immediately gave chase to the thieves on foot, while the truck driver climbed into his vehicle to help out too. But it’s unknown whether they managed to catch the thieves.
In the caption, the OP didn’t disclose the time or location of the theft, but only sarcastically commented that the thieves “must have been really hungry.”
Desperate or lazy?
The video, which has since garnered over 2,000 reactions at the time of writing, saw netizens leaving their comments about it.
Some wondered how desperate the thieves had to be to steal bread in broad daylight.
Others slammed the thieves for resorting to stealing instead of finding a job, with one calling them “no better than foreign workers”.
Another sarcastically wrote that the thieves probably stole the bread in order to feed those who were hungry.
Whatever the reason may be, stealing is the wrong thing to do nonetheless!
