What was supposed to be a day of celebration for a 19-year-old teenager quickly turned into one of tragedy after he lost his life in a road accident.
The victim, Muhammad Aiman Amirul Rashid, had just become a year older when his motorcycle crashed into a guardrail at KM19.3 of Jalan Sungai Rengit–Kota Tinggi in Johor on Thursday (Mar 20).

According to a report by Kosmo, Aiman was on his way home from his workplace in Bukit Pelali to his house in Felda Air Tawar 5 prior to the accident.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said police were notified of the accident at 8.40pm.
“The victim was traveling from Sungai Rengit toward Kota Tinggi, where he is believe to have lost control of the motorbike and crashed into the guardrail upon reaching the site of the accident.
“He suffered head injuries and was killed at the scene,” he said, adding the case was now being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
Stepfather mourns victim’s passing
News of Aiman’s death later reached the ears of his stepfather Zulkeply Ayob, who was deeply heartbroken by the tragedy, especially given the fact that it occurred on the teen’s birthday.
I have always considered him like my own son because I’ve been taking care of him since he was six years old. I wished him a happy birthday at noon and he replied, ‘Okay, Pa.’
“I never expected my wife to tell me he had died in an accident later that night. I always reminded him to be careful while riding his motorcycle, especially now that it’s the rainy season,” he said when met at the Forensic Unit of Kota Tinggi Hospital (HKT).
Zulkeply also described Aiman as a kind, cheerful child who was very close to his two step-siblings, where he even promised to fix his younger sibling’s bicycle after Raya.
“To me, he was a good son, and now all that remains are memories,” he added.
Aiman was later laid to rest at the Felda Air Tawar 5 Islamic Cemetery yesterday (Mar 21).
