According to Sin Chew, Yap Xiao Tong reached out to the investigating officer after seeing her missing person notice circulated widely on social media and in newspapers.
She reassured the authorities that she is safe and explained that she had chosen to leave home due to personal family issues.
A 19-year-old girl has been reported missing in Kuala Lumpur, with police now appealing to the public for assistance in locating her.
In a statement released today (Apr 25), the Jinjang Police Station identified the missing individual as Yap Xiao Tong (transliteration), a teenager residing at Jalan Jambu Berasa 3, Jinjang Selatan.
Uncontactable for at least 2 days
According to a Facebook post shared by the police, they received a missing person report at 6.20pm on Tuesday (Apr 22).
Yap has reportedly been uncontactable for at least two days after she left her residence and failed to return.
Police confirmed that Yap’s last known address is 331, Jalan Jambu Berasa 3, Jinjang Selatan.
Authorities are now urging anyone who may have seen Yap or has information about her whereabouts to contact Investigating Officer Sjn Rosdi bin Yusof at 012-6580597 or call the Jinjang Police Station at 03-62572222.
The public’s cooperation is crucial in helping bring Yap safely home.
