A 17-year-old boy who was currently sitting for his SPM examination was tragically killed in an accident after a car collided with his motorcycle.
According to China Press, the car driver reportedly fled the scene after the accident and police are now working to track the vehicle down.
Went out to buy food
The Chinese daily reported that the victim named Jason had recently obtained his motorcycle license this year.
On the day of the accident, which took place today at 11am along the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway, Jason had left his home to buy food nearby.

While making his way home, he was struck by a car from behind and got thrown off from his motorcycle. After falling onto the ground, Jason got run over by the car before it fled the scene.
As such, he sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
Family members inconsolable
Jason’s family later received news of the tragedy and immediately rushed to the scene.
His mother was seen crying uncontrollably while a passerby comforts her.

Jason’s younger brother could hardly control his grief, where he was seen kneeling on the ground with his hands clasped together while wishing the victim a peaceful journey into the afterlife.

Jason’s body was later transported it to the Penang General Hospital for a post-mortem in a police patrol car and the road was also closed for investigations, resulting in a massive congestion.

Meanwhile, police are working to track the car driver down by reviewing footage captured by CCTVs installed in the area.
