A 17-year-old teenage girl in Melaka was left with multiple injuries after her father assaulted her over her refusal to heat up food for her mother.
Following the incident, the teen lodged a police report against her father, leading to his arrest.
Reacted in anger when told to heat food up
According to Free Malaysia Today, the incident took place at a house located in Kampung Panchor, Alor Gajah.
The news portal reported that a source told Utusan Malaysia that the teen was doing her homework at about 4.20pm on Tuesday (Aug 19) when her father asked her to heat up food for her mother, who was at work.

Instead of following his instructions, the teen protested by throwing down her pen, which angered the suspect.
Slapped and hit with chairs
The source said the suspect proceeded to slap the teen, causing her cheek to swell and cuts to appear on her lips.
He then took a plastic chair and threw it towards the teen, striking her body. He also took another chair and smashed it against her back and left shoulder, leading to injuries on the teen’s hand.

The teen later lodged a police report at the Alor Gajah station and went to the Melaka Hospital for treatment for her injuries.
Her father was eventually arrested by the Melaka police’s criminal investigation department on Wednesday (Aug 20) and remanded at the Alor Gajah court.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine, whipping, or any combination thereof if convicted.
