17yo M’sian Teen Falls From 9th Floor Of KL Apartment, Dies On The Spot

He was found unconscious by family members.
In yet another case of individuals falling off from from buildings, a teenager lost his life after plunging multiple floors at a People’s Housing Programme (PPR) apartment in Setapak.

According to NST, police were alerted of the incident following a distress call made by a family member of the teen at around 11.50am yesterday (Jul 25).

Wangsa Maju district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Lazim Ismail told the English daily that a police team dispatched to the scene found the teen’s body lying at the ground floor of the apartment.

“Based on information provided to police, the victim had fallen from the building and was found unconscious by a family member.

“The victim, who was a psychiatric patient and undergoing treatment at a hospital, was later pronounced dead by medical officers,” he said.

The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR).

‘I couldn’t look at the body’

The tragedy has since sent ripples of shock among residents, who were stunned to see the incident unfold before their eyes.

A resident named Azmi Abdul Aziz told Harian Metro that he was informed about the incident from another resident.

At first I thought it was someone else who died because it looked like an adult and I didn’t have the heart to see the condition of the body.

“Two hours later, one of the residents informed me of the identity of the deceased and I was stunned and surprised,” he said, adding that he had known the victim for more than six years and that his son was close friends with the former.

Azmi added he often took the victim to participate in various community programs, especially those involving teenagers within the PPR.

“He was a good person who did not cause any problems and often greeted me politely by calling me ‘Acik Mi’, he said.
