A young female student who was preparing to sit for her SPM examination in Batu Pahat, Johor, suffered an early demise after she complained of experiencing headaches before collapsing.
China Press reported that the 17-year-old passed away this morning despite the hospital’s best efforts to save her.
17yo M’sian falls into coma after suffering headaches
Speaking to the Chinese daily, Johor Health and Environment Committee Chairman Ling Tian Soon said the victim was a straight-A student at her school and the only child in the family.

According to him, the victim had complained of suffering a severe headache at home two days ago before fainting.
She was then taken to the Yong Peng Clinic for emergency treatment and later transferred to the Batu Pahat Government Hospital for further care.
Doctors later found that she had suffered a brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured blood vessel, which led to her falling into a coma.
Succumbed to her condition
For the next two days, the victim’s teachers and classmates visited her and prayed for her recovery while she remained in a comatose state.
Unfortunately, the doctors weren’t able to save her and she breathed her last at 9.40am today.

“The victim’s parents described her as a hardworking and dedicated student who had been diligently preparing for the SPM examination.
“Her classmates also said that she had mentioned about experiencing headaches occasionally but showed no other signs of illness.
“This sudden tragedy is heart-wrenching. As a parent myself, I deeply empathise with the pain her family is going through,” said Ling.
Our condolences to the victim’s family for their loss and we hope they will be able to move on from this tragedy.
