While children often get upset after getting disciplined by their parents, rarely will they resort to contacting the police when it happens.
A teen in Indonesia got so angry that he called the police on his own mother after she physically disciplined him for refusing to clean up his room.
Whacked with broom by mum
According to Sinar Harian, the incident took place in a city called Malang in Indonesia last Saturday (Nov 1).
It all began when the teen named ‘TPS’ was instructed by his mum, identified as ‘S’, to fold his blanket and tidy up his bed.
However, that fell on deaf ears as the teen completely ignored her and continued to play mobile games on his handphone.
Angered by his disobedience, ‘S’ took a broom and hit ‘TPS’ with it, resulting in minor bruises to his arm and thigh.
Called police on mum over punishment
Upset by his mum’s actions, ‘TPS’ contacted the police via the 110 emergency hotline.
A spokesperson for the Malang police confirmed the incident and said police officers from the Tumpang district immediately went to the location upon receiving the call.
Upon discovering what had transpired, a counselling session was arranged for ‘S’ and ‘TPS’ with local officials.
“The police acted as mediators and provided counseling and both parties eventually reconciled and agreed to resolve the issue amicably through a joint written statement,” added the spokesperson.
Police also urged the public to settle family dispute among themselves first before calling the authorities to intervene.
