In this day and age, we simply cannot live without our handphones and would often find ourselves spending hours scrolling through online content with it.
A teenage girl, who became unhappy over her dad’s measures to curb her handphone addiction, left home in a huff and hasn’t returned since, prompting a missing persons report to be lodged.
16yo M’sian teen runs away from home over limited internet access
According to a report by Sinar Harian, the 16-year-old teen left her home in Seksyen 20, Shah Alam last Sunday (Mar 9), with her father reporting her disappearance on Monday at 9.27am when she failed to come home.

Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said initial investigations revealed the reason for the teen leaving home stemmed from a sharp disagreement she had with her dad.
The victim left home after being reprimanded by her father for spending too much time on her mobile phone, and her internet access was subsequently restricted.
“She’s the second of five siblings and attends a secondary school in Shah Alam,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Iqbal said the victim is 158 centimeters tall, weighs 53kg, has a medium brown complexion, and a slim build.
At the time she was last seen, she was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, a black hijab, black trousers, and carrying a backpack.
“A Missing Person Police Inquiry Paper has been opened to investigate the victim’s disappearance.
“Anyone with information on the victim’s whereabouts is urged to contact Criminal Investigation Officer, Inspector Nor Sabryna Mohammad Taha at 014-5130450 to assist in the investigation,” he added.
We hope the teenager will be found soon and in a safe condition!
