We’ve been seeing increasing reports about the harmful effects of vaping and how it is impacting people’s health.
Recently, a 16-year-old Form Four student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) in Kemaman, Terengganu, was discovered unconscious on the school grounds last Monday, reportedly due to overuse of a vape with a ‘magic mushroom’ flavour.

The student, who had experienced severe effects from the substance, required immediate medical attention.
According to Buletin TV3, witnesses to the incident, which occurred around 10:30 am, alerted a teacher.
The student was then taken to a nearby health clinic by his family and later referred to the emergency unit at Kemaman Hospital.
He’s under treatment
Medical examinations revealed that the student had suffered a critical seizure as a result of consuming the hazardous chemical-flavoured vape in excess.
It was reported that he still remains under treatment at the hospital.

Sources indicate that vaping among students at the school has been an ongoing issue for the past three years, reaching concerning levels.
In response to this incident, the victim’s family filed a police report last Friday.
Kemaman District Police Chief, Supt Hanyan Ramlan, has confirmed receipt of the report.
