The mother of a 15-year-old girl who went missing since last Saturday (Jan 17) is pleading with the latter to come home quickly as she is deeply concerned for her safety.
According to China Press, the girl, Huang Qiaoen (transliteration), left her grandparents’ home at around 11pm and hasn’t been heard from since.
Had argument with mum
Speaking to the Chinese daily, Huang’s mother, Ms Ji, said that Huang had skipped school last Friday (Jan 16), leading to an argument between them.
“While I believe that my daughter left home in a fit of anger after the argument, she has also been mixing with friends outside of school and showed signs that she was in a relationship—which I believe may have contributed to her running away.
“I recently received information indicating that my daughter was seen in Kepong and Selayang, but her exact whereabouts remain unknown,” she said.
Ran away before
Ms Ji added that this isn’t the first time Huang had run away from home, where the previous instance took place last year. Thankfully, she eventually returned home and reunited with her family.
Ms Ji also said that she had been raising her two kids all by herself since her husband’s passing, admitting that her impatient personality was what often triggered conflicts between her and Huang.
“Ever since my daughter went missing, I’ve found it hard to eat or sleep. My in-laws have also suffered from poor appetite and sleep, and they would sometimes even cry in secret multiple times.
“I even took leave from work as I’ve been restless all day,” she said.
Ms Ji revealed that Huang dreams of pursuing a career in makeup and beauty, adding that she will fully support Huang in fulfilling it once she completes her studies.
