The first day of a new school term is usually filled with yawns, rushing breakfasts, and “don’t be late” reminders from parents.
But for one family in Terengganu, the morning ended in tragedy.
A 15-year-old Form Three student lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Pengadang Baru earlier today, just hours into the first day of school.

The victim, Nor Azimi Nor Hashim, was a student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Padang Midin. The accident occurred at around 6.40am.
According to Kosmo!, Nor Azimi had just refuelled his motorcycle at a petrol station in Pengadang Baru and was on his way back home to Belukar Sukai, Kepong, Terengganu.
He was reportedly planning to pick up his 14-year-old younger sister so they could ride to school together.
However, upon reaching the location of the incident, his motorcycle was said to have collided with a Perodua Axia that was emerging from a junction. The impact threw him off the bike, and the motorcycle later caught fire.
Nor Azimi sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident has since sparked sadness among netizens, with many expressing condolences to the family, especially given that it happened on what was meant to be the start of a new school year.
Police are expected to investigate the case further.
