A violent fight which broke out at a coffee shop in Taiping, Perak, left a young boy so shaken that it allegedly caused him to collapse from sheer shock before passing away.
A clip of the fight was also shared on social media, where it showed how it first transpired and the chaos that ensued.
Customer slaps worker over tissue paper fee
According to witnesses who were at the scene, they told China Press that the incident took place at around 11pm on Monday (Jan 13).
They said the altercation was sparked when a customer requested for tissue paper from a foreign worker who was serving them tea.

When the worker asked the customer to pay for the tissue paper, the customer became upset and slapped the worker, causing all hell to break loose.
As the customer and worker traded blows and scuffled with each other, the coffee shop owner and several others stepped in to help break up the fight.
The 15-year-old boy, who was the son of the coffee shop owner, is seen holding a plastic chair while watching the chaos unfold in the clip.

Witnesses told China Press that throughout the fight, the boy was visibly tense while holding onto the chair in a defensive stance.
After the conflict subsided and all was calm again, the boy suddenly collapsed as he stepped outside. Those nearby immediately helped him into a chair and tried to revive him, but he remained unresponsive.
“The family quickly transported him to the hospital for emergency care, but he couldn’t be revived,” they said.
The boy was later identified as Terence Tan Kean Leong, whose funeral will be held tomorrow (Jan 16) at 11am.
Taiping district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Nasir Ismail revealed that the boy’s death had no criminal elements and authorities are awaiting the autopsy report to determine the cause of death.
He also said police are investigating the fight to ascertain the sequence of events.
Our condolences to the boy’s family for their sudden loss and we hope they will be able to move on from the tragedy.
