A Form 3 student was viciously attacked by his classmates, leaving him with a blackened eye and a possible concussion.
According to China Press, the incident took place at a secondary school in Kuala Muda, Kedah.
15yo M’sian boy beaten by classmates in front of teacher
Speaking to the Chinese daily, the boy’s father surnamed Zheng (transliteration) said the school recounted to him what had actually transpired.
According to the school, Zheng’s son had returned to class following an eye examination arranged by the school and read a novel at a corner by himself.

While reading, several classmates began to bother him, prompting the teen to switch seats repeatedly to avoid them.
Suddenly, one of his classmates grabbed the novel away from his hands, leading to a scuffle that culminated in the group beating the teen up until he lost consciousness.
Zheng said that the assault was done in the presence of a trainee teacher, who had joined the school a month ago.
Rushed son to hospital
As soon as he received news of the assault, Zheng took his son to the hospital, where doctors gave a preliminary diagnosis which suggested the teen may have suffered a concussion.

After being given an injection, Zheng’s son was placed under observation for six hours and instructed to rest. He is also scheduled to undergo a brain scan and X-ray examination to determine the extent of his injuries.
Zheng also claimed that the parents of the classmates who beat his son tried to seek a settlement and pleaded with him not to pursue the matter anymore.
However, he added that he lodged a police report as he felt it was a serious matter and wasn’t willing to let it slide.
Often bullied in school
According to the teen’s younger sister, who also attends the same secondary school, she said her brother was often the target of bullies, with one instance seeing his pants being forcibly pulled down by classmates.

She added that her brother was a mild-mannered person who usually avoided conflicts, which may have led the bullies to torment him as they believed he wouldn’t fight back.
Meanwhile, Sinar Harian reported that police have been alerted of the matter and are now probing it under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
