A 10-year-old-boy who’s currently recovering from nose cancer has been left with brain trauma following two separate assaults from school bullies.
One of the assaults was triggered by an angered individual who decided to take his rage out on the victim after the victim’s sister rejected his advances.

According to the boy’s mother Siti Suhana Misdi, she said the first incident took place on Feb 21 after school hours when a Standard 6 student attacked the victim in what she believed was “an act of revenge” as the victim’s sister refused to accept the bully’s affections.
Siti Suhana claimed her son was “beaten, kicked, had his head slammed, and forced to strip naked”, leading him to be hospitalised for two weeks, reported The Vibes.
It wasn’t until more than a month after the attack did Siti Suhana know the circumstance behind the attack, when her daughter finally came clean on Mar 24 out of concern for the victim’s condition.
A police report was later lodged on the same day at Taman Universiti Police Station, but a meeting between the parties was arranged as police said the case did not warrant a full investigation.
Bullied for the second time
On Aug 7, the victim became the target of bullying again, this time at a different school in Skudai, Johor.
Siti Suhana said her son’s ongoing battle with cancer may have given bullies the perception that he was easy to be picked on, adding that another police report was made over the second bullying incident.
Left with concussion and memory loss
As a result of the bullying, the victim now struggles to focus while doing tasks and often forgets the tasks being given to him.
He was once energetic, active, and loved studying. But now, he frequently forgets things and struggles to focus.
“For example, if I ask him to fetch a cloth from the kitchen, he’ll go there but forget why. This has been happening often lately, and we fear it may lead to serious memory impairment,” said Siti Suhana.
She added that doctors have warned her son may need to take up to three years to fully recover and may be prone to seizures.
The family has since appointed a team of lawyers to pursue for compensation and justice for the victim.
Investigations ongoing
When contacted, Johor State Education and Information Committee Chairman, Aznan Tamin said the Johor State Education Department and relevant parties are looking into the matter.
He added the victim and the family were paid a visit to ensure appropriate action is taken, reported MalaysiaGazette.
An investigation is also ongoing, as confirmed by Johor Bahru North District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh Mahindar Singh.
