A tragic incident has unfolded at a school in Senawang in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan yesterday (Oct 1) after a Standard 4 student suddenly passed away after losing consciousness.
An investigation has since been launched to uncover the reason for the boy’s sudden demise.

According to a statement by Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, he said police received a report at 1.19pm and a team was immediately dispatched to the scene, reported Sinar Harian.
“Based on initial information given to police, the 10-year-old boy left the classroom at 12.10pm before he was found unconscious inside the toilet.

“He was then rushed to the hospital by a disciplinary teacher but died while receiving treatment,” he said.
Alzafny added the case is being investigated under Section 507C of the Penal Code and a post-mortem will be carried out today to determine the cause of death.
He also called on the public not to speculate on the case as it might interfere with ongoing investigations.
Education Minister expresses condolences
Meanwhile, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the ministry is giving space to the police to conduct their investigation while focusing fully on the emotional well-being of pupils and teachers at the affected school.

“Starting tomorrow, this intervention will be implemented comprehensively by all our counsellors in Negeri Sembilan, who will be present to assess the situation.
“We are also receiving support from the Ministry of Health (MOH), particularly the Mental Health Centre, to give attention to this intervention, which will be carried out continuously,” she told reporters.
Fahdlina also told parents not to worry or feel afraid to send their children to school as schooling sessions will continue as usual.
“The Ministry of Education expresses our condolences and deep sadness over this incident. We are giving our full support to the family at this time, both emotionally and psychosocially.”
