10yo Boy In China Gets Scolded For Not Finishing Homework, Rats Dad Out For Keeping Drugs

😶😶
None of us likes it when we get scolded or lectured by our parents, and sometimes we’d find ourselves doing something rash in the heat of the moment, only to regret it later.

A young boy in China reported his father to the police for keeping several poppy shells inside the house after he got scolded for not finishing his homework.

Feeling deeply upset by the scolding, the boy ran away from home and stopped by a store, where he borrowed a phone and contacted the local police.

It later turned out that he had made the phone call as he wanted to report his dad for keeping poppy shells inside the house – an ingredient that’s used to make the highly-addictive drug opium.

After receiving the report, police met up with the boy at the store before heading over to his house.

Upon arriving, they found a total of eight poppy shells hidden at the balcony by the boy’s father.

Despite the boy’s father claiming that the poppy shells were used for medicinal purposes, he was arrested by police and the case was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Brigade for further investigation.

In China, the poppy plant is a painful reminder of a dark historical period, no thanks to how its citizens were addicted to opium when the British imported large amounts of it during the Qing Dynasty and eventually leading to the First Opium War in the 1840s.

Since then, the government has banned the usage of poppies and its cultivation is heavily regulated by the authorities.

However, there are certain restaurants in China who still skirt on the fringes on the law by dropping a few poppy seeds into the food, reported South China Morning Post.
