“1-by-1” Gentleman Wield A Cleaver To Challenge Grocery Shop Owner Again

Some trends really should end.
A video featuring the now viral “1-by-1” Indian man wielding a cleaver and challenging the grocery store owner again has ignited widespread controversy and calls for police action.

According to a Facebook post by Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Sungai Bakap by-election, Joohari, the incident occurred this morning (30 Jun).

A 1-by-1 gentleman’s duel

The 20-second clip shows the Indian man holding a helmet in his left hand and a cleaver in his right as he enters the grocery store, shouting for the owner, Goh Yap Eng, to come out.

When Goh appears and asks what the man wants, the latter responds, “You (the owner) called me here. I’m here now to have a 1-by-1 gentleman’s duel.”

The scene appears to be deliberately staged, but one netizen commented that he had provided the video to Joohari.

He claimed that the Indian man often causes trouble at the grocery store while intoxicated and urged the police to arrest him to ensure the safety of the store owner.

Urging for police action

Other netizens pointed out that bringing a cleaver to the store is a criminal act, attracting unnecessary problems.

Both Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin and Batu Maung state assemblyman Kumaresan have commented on Joohari’s post, tagging the police and urging them to take action against the troublemaker and prevent further incidents.
