One woman in Hangzhou, China, however, saw it as a business opportunity and has reportedly gained more than 20 customers just three days after starting her unusual side hustle.

According to the local media, the woman, known as Mihan, offers a door to door rubbish disposal service for residents in her neighbourhood.

## Charges RM1.80 per rubbish collection

Mihan reportedly printed 500 promotional cards to advertise the service around the residential area.

Her rates are simple: customers pay 3 yuan, or about RM1.80, for each rubbish collection involving bags weighing under 5kg.

Those who do not want to place an order every time can instead subscribe to a monthly package for 99 yuan, or approximately RM60.

Mihan told the local media that she came up with the RMB3 price after referring to existing market rates.

## More than 20 customers in just 3 days

The idea appears to have caught on rather quickly.

Within three days of launching the service, Mihan had already secured more than 20 customers. She now receives around five to six orders a day.

The entire process is also relatively straightforward. Mihan goes to the customer's doorstep, collects their rubbish and disposes of it before taking a photo as proof that the task has been completed. The customer then transfers the payment to her.

In most cases, she does not even need to meet the customer face to face.

## Believes office workers are willing to pay

Mihan said she believes there is demand for such a service as many working adults are willing to spend a small amount of money in exchange for saving time.

Besides collecting rubbish, she has also started helping residents collect their courier parcels.

Despite the early response, Mihan said she is not too concerned about how many customers she can attract for now.

Instead, she plans to first observe the level of demand before deciding how to develop the side hustle further.
