In another case of ‘khalwat’ (close proximity), Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) officers caught a woman sharing the same room with two other men following a surprise raid.
According to Sinar Harian, the raid was carried out at a two-storey terrace house in Bandar Dato’ Onn at 12pm on Monday (Mar 3) following a public tip-off.
Trio found in same bedroom
During the raid, JAINJ officers checked two bedrooms before discovering the trio in the second room.

Upon entering the room, they saw a man man sleeping shirtless and only wearing a pair a shorts.
As for the other two, they were allegedly spotted lying next to each other on a queen-sized mattress nearby.
When one of the men saw the officers inside the room, he quickly got up and was wearing only long pants.
Officers also saw a woman lying next to him while covering herself under the blanket.
‘I wasn’t feeling well’
An investigation found that none of the trio were married or shared family ties with each other. Officers also noted that the bed was in a “messy” condition.
When questioned, the woman claimed that she was sick and needed to rest at the house.

Officers later discovered that the woman and man who shared the same bed were long acquainted with each other and often visited the house together.
All three of them were detained under Section 27 of the Johor State Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1997 for ‘khalwat’.
