M’sia’s Food Ranked No.1 Most Delicious Food At Osaka Expo 2025

Malaysia has made headlines at Expo 2025 Osaka after its pavilion was voted the number one destination for overseas gourmet food, while its digital creative works also captured strong attention from visitors.

No.1 in Japan

Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Zafrul Aziz, shared screenshots of Japanese broadcaster Yomiuri TV, the Malaysia Pavilion ranked first in a special “Expo Gourmet” survey among season pass holders.

This group visits the expo regularly, making the ranking more significant.

Popular dishes such as the roti canai impressed many Japanese visitors, earning Malaysia the top spot ahead of Australia, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and France.

He also said that the achievement highlighted Malaysia’s unique cuisine and hospitality, congratulating the entire pavilion team for their efforts.

Local productions received positive feedback

At the same time, Malaysia’s digital creative industry shone during Digital Ministry Week, held from Aug 11 to 15. Local productions such as Upin & Ipin Universe by Les’ Copaque, GigaBash by Passion Republic Games, and No Straight Roads by Metronomik received positive feedback from Japanese audiences.

The program, themed “Weaving a Future in Harmony”, was spearheaded by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and launched virtually by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

It featured exhibitions, interactive showcases, and business sessions with creative studios including Metronomik, OMG Studios, and Kezerk.
