May she find relief from her financial burdens one day.
A 24-year-old Malaysian woman has voiced her frustrations online about the overwhelming financial burden she faces, earning just RM2K a month while supporting her entire family.

According to MSTAR, the woman shared that she has been working for six years without any savings, as her entire salary goes towards covering household expenses.

Eldest sibling in the house

She is the eldest of five siblings, with her younger brothers and sisters still in school. Her 57-year-old father, who works as a laborer, earns RM3,000 per month, while her 48-year-old mother is a homemaker.

Despite her hard work, the woman revealed that she has been unable to save any money as she continuously has to meet her family’s needs.

“My whole salary is spent on supporting the family. When my mother complained about boiling water, I installed a water filter.

“My father wanted an MPV for the family, so I took out a loan, and now I pay RM700 monthly for it. When our washing machine broke down, my aunt remarked, ‘Surely your sister can buy a new one for your mom now that she’s working,’ so I bought a new one,” she explained.

“My sacrifices go unnoticed”

She also shared that she remains single and has no money to spend on herself.

“I cried. My world feels like it’s falling apart. My sacrifices go unnoticed, and my mother thinks I’m being extravagant because I don’t have savings,” she added.

The woman recalled an incident from three years ago when she handed RM3,000, including her salary and bonuses, to her mother for safekeeping.

“It was my salary, commissions, and bonus, but my mother spent it all. When I asked where the money went, she said it was for my siblings’ school fees and kitchen supplies.

“She said she only used a bit, but it was all gone. I was speechless. That incident truly broke me,” she shared.

Her post has garnered widespread sympathy online, with many netizens offering support and criticizing the pressure placed on her as the eldest child.
