A young woman learnt the lesson of being attentive to her surroundings the hard way after a motorcycle collided into her while she was crossing the road and using her phone at the same time.
Thankfully, she didn’t suffer any severe injuries from the accident.
Got distracted by phone
In the dashcam footage which has been circulating online, it showed the woman crossing the road along Jalan Bangsar while talking on her handphone.

Unfortunately, that proved to be a huge mistake as she was so engrossed in the conversation that she failed to notice a motorbike coming her way.
As such, the motorbike rammed into the woman and both her and the motorcyclist were sent flying across the road.

Used non-designated crossing
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said in a statement that the woman had crossed from the left shoulder to the right at a non-designated crossing.
He added that following the collision, the motorcycle crashed into two other vehicles which were waiting at the traffic light, reported The Star.

Both the woman and the motorcyclist were treated at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for minor injuries, while the other drivers were unharmed.
Those with information on the incident are urged to contact the Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999 or the nearest police station to assist in investigations.
Don’t use your devices when crossing the road and always keep your eyes open!
