A Malaysian man recently shared a deeply personal story online, revealing how his mother’s past affair with her boss had quietly affected his family for years.
According to the post shared by XUAN on their Facebook, the incident that stirred everything happened when he was out eating with his parents at a food court.
While they were having their meal, his mother ran into several acquaintances who used to work with her at the same company many years ago.
During the brief interaction, the man noticed that one of the older men looked at his father in a way that made him feel extremely uncomfortable.
His father kept his head down throughout the encounter and continued eating without saying a word.
Father later found crying alone at home
When the family returned home, the man discovered something that left him shaken.
He saw his father alone in a corner, quietly crying.
Concerned, he approached his father and tried to comfort him. It was then that his father opened up about something that had been weighing on him for years.
The father revealed that many years ago, he had overheard a hurtful remark about his wife. The words had stayed with him like a thorn in his heart, lingering long after the moment had passed.
Mother had relationship with her boss in the past
The man explained that his mother had been considered very beautiful when she was younger, and even now in her fifties she still looks well maintained.
She worked at the same company for more than 30 years. According to him, workplace boundaries during the 1990s were not as clearly defined as they are today.
At some point during that time, his mother developed a relationship with her boss that went beyond professional boundaries.
He shared that his younger sister was born during that complicated period.
Father knew but chose to stay silent
Despite everything, the man believes his father had always known about the situation.
However, his father never confronted it openly.
He described his father as a very ordinary man who grew up in a poor family and faced many financial pressures when he was younger.
The poster said he suspects his father chose to remain silent and endure the situation for the sake of the family.
Back then, his mother often came home very late from work due to what was described as overtime.
Later on, his father started his own business. The initial capital and connections reportedly came from the same boss.
Although his father worked extremely hard and slowly built a better life for the family, some emotional scars remained.
Some wounds never truly disappear
The man also recalled an incident from childhood when his younger sister innocently said something in public that made the situation awkward.
While children may not understand such matters, adults can remember those moments for a lifetime.
He added that the boss had his own family and life, and his own family had always remained on the margins.
According to him, his father placed most of his hopes on him because he was his biological child.
Even though their living conditions have improved significantly over the years and the family appears comfortable from the outside, he said certain emotional wounds never truly disappear.
He wrote that some pain lingers quietly, like a man hearing others talk about his wife behind his back while he can only remain silent.
Grateful yet conflicted
In the end, the man admitted that his feelings toward the situation remain complicated.
While he is grateful to his mother for helping provide a better life for the family, he also carries resentment and anger.
He shared that this emotional contradiction has followed him throughout his life.
