Everyone has their forgetful and funny moments, and we’ve all seen a few — but hopefully you don’t end up doing what this guy did.
A bizarre incident occurred at a petrol station in Malaysia when a white car drove away mid-refueling with the fuel gun still attached, causing the hose to snap off from the pump.
Drove off with the fuel nozzle
According to a video posted on Xiaohongshu, the driver had stopped to refuel but suddenly drove off before removing the nozzle from the car.
The vehicle made a right turn while leaving, which forcefully pulled the hose until it detached from the pump.

Dashcam footage showed the fuel pipe breaking off from the section connected to the station, while the nozzle remained stuck inside the car.
Fined RM700
Station staff immediately rushed over to inspect the damage and assisted in securing the pump to prevent further hazards.
Thankfully, no fire or explosion occurred, and no injuries were reported.
The netizen that uploaded the video shared that the estimated damage cost is around RM700, which would likely have to be borne by the driver.
Such incidents, though uncommon, are not unheard of in Malaysia. Petrol station hoses are typically designed with breakaway couplings that detach under force to prevent fuel spillage and fire risks.
