**A man who hailed from Kuala Lumpur was found dead at the car park of a mall in Penang last night (Oct 12).**

[Sin Chew Daily](https://northern.sinchew.com.my/news/20261012/northern/7944691) reported that the victim was 47-year-old Peng Jiaqiang (transliteration), who checked into a hotel on Sunday and was scheduled to check out on the day of his demise.

According to [NST](https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2026/10/1554010/man-kl-dies-after-falling-penang-mall-car-park), Northeast district deputy police chief Superintendent Lee Swee Sake confirmed the incident which took place in Lebuh Teck Soon.

He said in the 9.10pm incident, a witness reportedly saw Peng falling from an upper-level car park.

Lee added no elements of criminal activity were found following preliminary investigations at the scene and an examination of Peng's body.

A sudden death report (SDR) will be opened to facilitate further investigations.
