A simple act of honesty by a deaf OKU Grab driver has touched the hearts of many Malaysians online, reminding netizens that kindness does not need words.
Recently, a woman took to Threads to thank her Grab driver, Mr Yoo, after he personally returned a mobile phone that her father had accidentally left behind in the car.
What made the story especially heartwarming was that the driver is OKU and deaf, as indicated in the booking details shown in the Grab app.
In her post, she shared that the phone was only discovered missing after the driver had already travelled some distance away. Despite that, the driver later realised that a phone had been left behind and made the effort to send it back to her home.
Thank you to this Grab driver, Mr Yoo. My father’s phone was left in his car. Even though he had already driven far, he realised there was a phone left behind and sent it back to our house,” she wrote.
She added that she was reposting the experience simply as a way to express her appreciation to an honest and kind driver.

Netizens moved by the driver’s kindness
The post quickly went viral, garnering over 100,000 views and drawing praise from netizens who were touched by the driver’s integrity, especially after learning that he is deaf.
Many said drivers like him deserved recognition, while others said the story restored their faith in humanity.
“There’s still hope in humanity. Thank you abang Grab Yoo Hsien,” one commenter wrote.
Another netizen suggested that giving extra tips was one of the best ways to show appreciation to drivers who go the extra mile.
The woman later replied in the comments to confirm that she had indeed tipped the driver as a token of thanks for returning her father’s phone.
“May he be blessed with good fortune”
As the comments continued to pour in, many netizens also left well wishes for the driver.
“May Mr Yoo be blessed with good fortune and always get green traffic lights,” one commenter wrote.
Others thanked the woman for sharing a positive story online, saying that it was refreshing to see kindness highlighted amid the usual viral controversies.
Several netizens also reflected on how small acts of honesty, regardless of a person’s abilities, can make a big difference, encouraging Malaysians to continue doing good whenever they can.
