BAM has announced its decision to ban top shuttler Lee Zii Jia from taking part in international tournaments for two years.

This comes after Zii Jia left BAM to pursue his career as an independent player.
In a special press conference, BAM deputy minister Dato’ Sri Dr. Jahaberdeen Mohamed Yunoos said that the association tried negotiating with Zii Jia after he tendered his resignation letter on Jan 11.
They also added that Zii Jia offered to stay in BAM in exchange for the following demands:
1. To have his own personal coach;
2. To have the freedom in arranging his competition schedule;
3. To have his own sponsor
“However, we turned down the offer and told him that it was impossible,” said Dr. Jahaberdeen.
