PUTRAJAYA – Malaysians who do not receive their booster shot by February 2022 will have their vaccination status deemed as “incomplete” on their MySejahtera profile.
This will apply to those who have received two doses of the Sinovac vaccine, along with those aged above 60 years old who have been inoculated with a different type of vaccine.
According to Kosmo!, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said individuals with an “incomplete” status will not be able to enjoy the benefits currently available to the fully vaccinated.
“Our Drug Control Authority (DCA) has approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac, and AstraZeneca vaccines as booster shots.
“This is in line with the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunisation (SAGE) recommendation, which has been approved and accepted by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force — Booster (CITF-B) on Dec 8,” he said.
Khairy added that the Technical Working Group (TWG) has also recommended giving booster shots to Malaysians above 18.
